Vintage Notes

Riesling is known to produce 7 different wine styles, depending on climate and winemaking skills. This wine from Helm is thought to be the first of a new style, using Riesling to produce a rosé with a little help from Cabernet sauvignon. It shows yet again the versatility of Riesling the “Queen of grapes”.

Vineyard Notes

Helm Wines of Murrumbateman in the Canberra District released a brand new style to the Helm range - a brand new Riesling style in fact – Riesling Rosé. This adds to the well known Riesling range which Ken has been producing for 47 years. He believes they could be the first in Australia to produce a Rosé style wine from the Riesling grape with about 5 % Cabernet sauvignon to give it colour and texture.

Peak Drinking / Cellaring Potential

As this is the first of its kind we cannot predict how it will age but with Riesling as its heritage, we would expect at least 10 years.

Food Matches

Like all of our Rieslings, this wine can be paired with numerous dishes. A lovely wine on a hot summer day with prawns, cheese or some melon fruits.
